Quick answers

Why is my range shorter than a dedicated radio's?

Groundwaves connects phones directly to each other over their own short-range wireless connection rather than dedicated long-range radio hardware. It's built for groups that stay reasonably close together — a few meters to a few dozen meters — not for groups spread far apart. See the app's onboarding screen for more detail on realistic range.

Does the SOS/alert button call for help?

No. It sends a local alert to your connected group only — it does not contact emergency services. Always use your phone's actual emergency calling function for real emergencies.

Is my audio, messages, or location sent anywhere?

No. Everything happens directly between the phones in your group. See the full Privacy Policy for details, or the Data Safety Summary for a shorter overview.

How do I report a bug?

Use the button above, and include your phone model, Android version, and what happened — the more specific, the faster it's fixable.
